Ever wanted to wear THAT red-carpet look or cult piece from your favourite brand, but don’t have the money, or don’t want it sitting in your wardrobe, never to be worn again? Whether it’s for a night out, a wedding, or any other occasion, sometimes you just NEED that look. So what if it were possible to wear that dress, or refresh your wardrobe every month, AND take care of the planet? Too good to be true? Think again. Hack Your Closet

Founded in June 2019, the Stockholm-based start-up Hack Your Closet is a service that rents out second-hand items from brands» previous collections, putting their unsold/archives pieces to good use. They stock pieces from a huge range of Nordic brands including Filippa K, Samsøe Samsøe, ARKET and WEEKDAY, so there’s no lack of items to be surprised by. Hack Your Closet are also ensuring that they are doing all they can for the environment, with 28% of their shipments involving no fossil fuels, and 70% having their CO2 emissions offset. We like this!

How does it work? You receive a monthly box of 4 pieces curated by their closet assistants, according to your personal preferences

H&M Rentals (Only In-store)

Available in the Sergels Torg flagship store in Stockholm, H&M has opened its archives, and is offering members the possibility to rent selected pieces from the brand’s Conscious Exclusive collections. Customers book a time to come to the space, where a personal stylist will help you pick out pieces for you to rent according to your preferences.

How does it work? You can rent up to 3 pieces for a week

How much does it cost? SEK 350/per piece

Something Borrowed

With their extensive choice of brands and subscription flexibility, Something Borrowed makes the rental service highly accessible while offering a balance between an everyday wardrobe and some more one-off designer pieces. 

How does it work? You select the subscription that fits your needs and budget – 3 to 6 items selected by you, or have a personal stylist choose for you, according to your preferences

How much does it cost? SEK 299-799/month

It’s Re:Leased

If you want a range of designer clothes competes with the likes of Rent the Runway, then It’s Re:Leased is the ideal service for you! Providing a broad assortment of pieces from the likes of Filippa K, Stine Goya, Baum Und Pferdgarten and HOPE, you are sure to find that fancy-schmancy, one-time-only outfit you need to mark a special occasion!

How does it work? You pick 3 pieces to rent for a month

How much does it cost? SEK 750/month

The WOW Closet

Featured earlier this year during the ELLE Sweden’s annual gala, The WOW Closet focuses specifically on designer dresses and wedding dresses for hire. This is one of the best selection of high-end dresses we’ve seen, and it is perfect for weddings and Christmas parties!

How does it work? Rent the dress of your choice for between two days to two weeks

How much does it cost? Prices range from SEK 399 and SEK 2,999 for 2 days depending on the dress

FJONG 

From winter jackets to black-tie outfits, to pregnancy perfect pieces, FJONG has something for every occasion. The company carries new and vintage designer clothing from brands including Acne Studios, By Malene Birger, Samsøe Samsøe and GANNI. 

How does it work? You may pick the items you want to rent with a starting price that covers the first four days of the rental. And if the item is available for longer, you can rent it for up to 6 months. FJONG also you to become a lender – who doesn’t want to earn money from people borrowing their clothes? It’s like a sister with benefits!

How much does it cost? Pricing depends on the item you are renting
