First and foremost, we have one of our absolute favorite Nordic designers – the Danish Cecile Bahnsen. We would wear those sandals every single day if the weather allowed, because they are OUTSTANDING. Cecilie Bahnsen manages to bring couture-level detailing to the classic velcro strapped trek sandal, through elaborate and beautiful detailing; adding white beaded flowers to the straps. Now – this is high fashion, and with that comes a high price, but, these dream-sandals are worth every dime!

ATP Atelier: Farro Flat Sandals in ‘Almond’
If you want to feel cute, add a playful twist to your summer outfit, or spice up your stiff work suit, the feathery Farro flat sandals from the Swedish ATP Atelier are what you need! Sandals should not always and only be practical, but also fun to wear. ATP Atelier definitely got that right with these sandals, which we think are to die for.

An all-time favorite of ours from outside of the Nordics is of course, Dr. Martens. And yes, they design the coolest, chunky sandals we have ever seen. Nordic Style’s top pick from their wide selection of cool styles, is definitely the Voss sandal in black, shiny patent. The price is also amazing, considering the fact, that if you take care of your Docs, they will be your partner for a lifetime, and that’s the level of quality that we like! Give your summer look an edge, by styling these DM’s with a floral dress or jeans, to look fierce while letting your toes breath.

Birkenstock: Milano Birko Flor in ‘Khaki’
For the outdoor adventurer, this sandal from our German friends at Birkenstock would be the perfect fit. Anyone travelling to Iceland or Norway this summer, where hiking in sandals is a likely scenario? Well, then Birkenstock surely got you covered with their carefully designed sandal, keeping you perfectly equipped for exploring nature and urban environments, all the while wearing the same pair of sandals. And hey – socks in sandals are back in fashion, so if it’s a bit cold on the top of the mountain you’d be perfectly fine and still in style wearing your wool-socks underneath the straps.
