Reform and Legendary French Architect Jean Nouvel Collaborate on New Kitchen Design

Clean, subtly empowering, yet beautifully minimal is how I would describe Reform’s new design with iconic French architect Jean Nouvel. Having designed some of the the modern era’s most iconic buildings including One Central Park in Sydney, the DR Concert Hall in Copenhagen and the Louvre Abu Dhabi, Nouvel is no stranger to making an impact in a unique way.

Turning his eye and hand to kitchen design, REFLECT is a culmination of Nouvel’s outstanding ability to influence a space’s light and Reform’s mission to address the kitchen’s importance in our homes.

Art should be created for life, not for the museum.
— Jean Nouvel

Made from robust, highly-reflective steel, REFLECT brings Jean’s skill with light and lines to the forefront of your room. Balancing scale, functionality and texture in a room is no easy feat, but this design does it all with the use of vertical lines, contrasting surfaces and a beautiful amount of breathing space. There’s no short-lived handle trends, high-maintenance materials or awkward angles, what you see is what you get and it’s refreshing.

The kitchen is available in silver or black steel with the option of stainless steel or Fenix [paper and resin mix] for the countertops, making the surfaces easy to maintain, but not less impactful. One of my favourite things about this design is not how it looks, but the fact that is has been coated in an anti-fingerprint varnish, making the metal resistant to the trials of daily wear and tear. It’s the little details like this that make a Reform kitchen not just a kitchen, but a beautiful, intrinsic part of your home for more than just cooking.

This design is Reform’s biggest, yet most modest and it’s that kind of juxtaposition that makes it iconic. Making a statement is sometimes just knowing how to work a room, and REFLECT does just that.
