Elaine Hersby’s New Made to Order Collection is elegantly and Sustainably Crafted

Ever since Copenhagen-based designer Elaine Hersby made her debut in 2017 at Copenhagen Fashion Week, we’ve been in love with her approach to womenswear – her dance-based fashion shows and brand style, which takes inspiration from the surf and gymnastic industries, is laid-back but thought out. Dance and movement is always translated into her collections, using flexible materials and comfortable cuts, making space for the body to move and play freely. In her newest made-to-order collection, graphic shapes and cutouts give the idea of a truly free body; a bare back which is bent over, a shoulder that is peeking out of an s-shaped collar and ruffled sleeves that dance along with the waving of the arm. The colours are simple yet strong, allowing for the silhouettes to speak for themselves, giving the collection an overall vibrant feeling.

In general, we work with different shapes that shows parts of the body in a sculptural way. Waves and organic shapes are the main design direction for this collection.
