EDITORIAL: leyndarmál

The story takes its inspiration from Renaissance art and emulates the light, shadow and directing of the old master’s artworks. The photographs are framed to appear somewhat like old oil paintings, yet the styling offers a modern touch inspired by Alexander McQueen’s aesthetic, with dark colours, thick fabrics and Gothic/Victorian inspired pieces made by Icelandic independent designers. The editorial was shot at Hotel Holt, which functions as hotel and art museum, housing the largest private collection of Icelandic art.
