Tableau and Röd Studio Launch ‘Cornucopia’ Fun and Fluffy Mixed-Media Vases
I love pastries and I love interior decoration. So when my interior design favourites TABLEAU announced that they were launching a multi-coloured, fluffy and fringy vase collection with RÖD STUDIO based on pastries, I knew I was going to love it.
Exploring the frills, decadence and fun that fine pastry has become known for, the collection of 15 vases are named after items from La Glace, Denmark’s oldest and world-famous patisserie. These vases want to be caressed, ogled at and devoured (figuratively), and are the perfect, playful accompaniment to any room. RÖD STUDIO and TABLEAU are known for their expert exploration of textures, materials and surfaces, and the ‘Cornucopia’ collection shows this off in the best way – contrasting horse hair and wool are combined in the ‘Florence’ vases to excite your eyes and your hands, while the sleek racing stripes on the ‘Sport’ vases bring a new dimension to what is usually a simply, rounded object.
There’s pearls, there’s glitters, there’s bright colours and dark ones. The teams have taken the necessary aspects of a vase, which is told water/flowers, and thrown every other rule out the window, which it what makes this collection so unique. Textiles and water don’t usually go together, right? But somehow they make it work. Heck, you don’t even need to put flowers in these vases, just display the vase itself!
The use of wool in this collection comes from RÖD STUDIO’s speciality in textiles. Founders Anne Louise Rasmussen and Maja Marie Halling create colourful, exciting, hand-tufted wall carpets (which can also be used on your floor), out of their studio in Copenhagen. Combining their love for colour, texture and shape with TABLEAU’s expertise in metals and flower design, has created a collection that is fun, frivolous and must-have!
The collection is available to shop online and at a safe distance in-store now (Kongensgade 50), prices range from 4.500 to 6.000 DKK, and you will definitely one (or three) of these in your home. I’ll personally be snapping up one of everything that comes in midnight blue!
