Bare Stockholm Launches Sustainable Underwear Brand

The highly anticipated launch of Swedish underwear brand Bare Stockholm is finally here. Founded in the fall of 2019 by Felicia Bladh and Rebecka Lidenwall, the brand offers sustainable, high quality and comfortable products without the hefty price tag. ”We all share the same ambition to be able to offer underwear made by women for women through Bare,” said Iman Maimberg, owner of the sustainable yoga brand Grounded Factory, who joined Bladh and Lindenwall as a co-founder in the spring of 2020.

Bare Stockholm’s focus on sustainability is evident in the care they put into the manufacturing of their products. The line is produced in Portugal, a country known for its ethical working conditions and sustainable textile production. Conscious of the environmental impact the long transportation of goods can have, Bladh, Lindenwall and Maimberg wanted to ensure that they sourced their materials from factories within Europe.

In addition to this, each garment is comprised of modal tencel, a material manufactured from the renewable raw material beech wood. Modal tencel fibres are not only biodegradable and compostable but are also antibacterial and known for their extreme softness and breathability, key components every woman looks for in her underwear. The designs themselves are clean, simple and classic. Matching bra and underwear sets come in black, cream, beige and warm chocolate brown tones, created to complement a variety of skin tones and body types.

Its launch comes at a time when many other underwear brands are relying on synthetic materials. These not only have a negative impact on the environment but are also unhealthy for both men and women to wear. Bare Stockholm’s aim to deliver quality pieces that are both timeless in style and sustainably produced is laudable and deeply needed.
