NEWS: Stockholm Fashion Week Goes Digital
Last year, the Swedish Fashion Association made the difficult decision to no longer continue Stockholm Fashion Week in its original format. With the growing desire to create a more sustainable fashion week experience, the SFA decided to put Stockholm Fashion Week on pause until further notice. One year later, we’re happy to see SFA is bringing back Stockholm Fashion Week in a new, digital format!
This new version of Stockholm Fashion Week will run between August 25th-27th 2020. During these three days, there will be 21 designers and 3 surprise names – 24 in total- showcasing their SS21 collections to the Nordic fashion world. The participants will range from big names to emerging designers, such as Rodebjer, ARKET, Jeanerica, and AVAVAV. In addition to the fashion shows, several awards will be presented, such as the SFW New Talent award powered by Boozt.com, NK Style Icon Award, and the NK New Talent Award, in coordination with the NK Galan 2020, and each day will be closed out by musical performances with special guests.
This new digital fashion week will be broadcasted from a designated SFW Studio at Fotografiska, which is one of the most famous and historic photography museums in Stockholm. The event will be hosted by Nick Carvell, a British fashion journalist, as he shall guide us through the entire experience while he presents fashion shows, awards, interviews, seminars, designer presentations, and the like. Although Fotografiska is the hub for SFW this season, there will be several other activities taking place around Stockholm during the week. We’re excited to see what brands will bring to this digital form, and we will be reviewing shows as per usual – keep your eyes peeled!
