SFW SS21 – Lazoschmidl: A Romantic, Summer Road Trip
Spring and love is definitely in the air at LAZOSCHMIDL! The collection pays homage to a romantic b-movie, as we follow two heros on a road trip around a utopia, exploring love and independence. With a beautifully done film to help tell the story, it takes viewers through a number of places throughout utopia: cheap hotel pools, fast food restaurants, and karaoke bars. Their journey is one to witness.
This menswear collection has an eclectic mix of bold and bright colours, which are teamed with a variety of prints and patterns, for added summer extravagance. Many of the garments are made out of swimwear type materials, which are manufactured from recycled PET bottles – a big win for sustainability – which makes this collection fully suitable for swimming wherever you are! The iconic butterfly pattern which LAZOSCHMIDL features regularly throughout his collection, has made triumphant return, and this season it is paired with cowhide, retro stripes, lurex glitter biker shorts and transparent shirts – have we missed anything? The denim in the collection is hand-dyed, the sheer organza shirts are delicately put together, and there’s just enough sequins sprinkle throughout. Could this collection contain any more!?
The cutout bodysuits are undoubtedly showstoppers and instantly caught my eye – they’re cool, different and a fresh alternative to a basic t-shirt and pair of trunks. What else caught my eye? The oversized white jacket featuring pink and red flowers – although this is a menswear collection, I could definitely see myself adding that jacket to my wardrobe as a piece to layer over another shirt or two. Last, but certainly not least, the cowhide ensembles are undeniably one of the coolest looks I’ve seen in a long time. A twist on a suit, the shirt and pants can be worn together to take your look to the next level, or you can utilise them as separates for a more toned-down look. I’ll take a bit of everything, thank you!
