Discover Your Perfect Sneakers with SportShowroom

Sneakers are there for you, whenever you need them. Whether its a workout, city stroll, cocktail evening, or dare I say it, wedding – you’ll find a pair of sneakers for the occasion. I have quite a few pairs of sneakers, each one with a different purpose. I have 2 pairs for running, a summer and a winter pair, a pair for the gym, a pair of white sneakers for casual, but smart occasions, a pair pf chunky, colourful ones for more relaxed outfits, and the list goes on and on…

But I also like sneakers that I can wear across multiple occasions – i’ll take my running sneakers from a coffee date to the trail, and i’ll wear my 90s chunky sneakers with a pair of jeans or a silk slip dress – there’s so many possibilities. With there being so many options, I’ve out together my key sneaker trends, that you need in your closet:

leather or rubber

Leather and rubber are important materials to keep your sneakers fresh during autumn/winter, but it doesn’t mean they have to be boring. A classic white leather sneaker is the way to go, but why not try a pink or blue rubberized sneaker for something a little different, but still easy to take care for? If white is a bit bright for you, why not try an off-white, or for something a little dark, black or navy blue is perfect and easy to wear. Whether you prefer a tennis or basketball silhouette, SWIMS and Adidas have you covered in all departments – Adidas’ Stan Smiths and Nike’s Air Force 1s are icons, and everyone should own atleast one, or both of these pairs of shoes.

colour

The more, the merrier! Nothing is off the table these days, so embrace your rainbow fetishes, and display your brightest colours on your feet. Whether you’re going for contrasting combinations, or something a little more muted, there is something out there for everyone, and this is one of my favourite trends. Brands like ARKK Copenhagen, Karhu and Nike have perfected the colour trend by combining colour and texture to create new blends. The most important rule here is, don’t worry if your outfit colours clash, just roll with it!

chunky

Some say ‘the bigger, the better’, but you also have to be able to walk, so no one wants a pair of transformers attached to their feet. I like the silhouette of Nike’s Air Max 95’s as they are robust, but have height, and come in a range of colour and fabric combinations. The chunky trainer is a simple one, wear them with everything, anywhere, I personally prefer them with ‘slim’ clothing ontop like a slip dress or skinny jeans. Let the trainers do the talking!

mesh

Mesh is lightweight, breathable, and the perfect fabric construction for experimenting with layering colours and patterns. Like I mentioned earlier, I like my sneakers to have multiple uses, so for me, a pair of lightweight, breathable mesh sneakers are perfect for so many occasions. Whether you want a monochrome or a multi-coloured pair, mesh is perfect for warmer weather, exercising, brightening up an outfit, and just generally being a really comfortable pair of everyday sneakers. I swear by many pairs of Nike Flyknits, and the Nike Vapormax is the perfect upgrade, as the sole cushions add extra colour, height and comfort.

With more and more people wearing sneakers for not just working out, sneaker shops have popped up everywhere, but no one wants to spend hours and hours searching high and low, to find out the size or colourway you want, is not available in your region. Sportshowroom are based out of Sweden, ship across Europe, and have done all the sneaker finding leg work for you – they have brought together a huge range of collections from Nike and Adidas (for now), and show you the available colours and size, then take you straight to the purchasing page. What more could you want?

Shop Sportshowroom’s collection HERE, and find your perfect pair (or two) of sneakers.
