By Malene Birger Brings Bohemia To Your Nordic Staycation
It’s pretty certain now that a lot of us Nordic-based folk will be limited to only travelling locally over the upcoming summer. On that note, the Danish fashion house By Malene Birger has brought out a mini collection that will let you bask in that Mediterranean feel, no matter what location you’re settling for this year.
The exclusive capsule collection ‘Bohemian Like You’ is to us, the epitomy of a stylish Danish mom on holiday. Conveying obvious grecian goddess connotations, the colour palette has been narrowed down to crisp white, jet black, and naturally a spectrum of pottery blues. Laid-back, slouchy silhouettes have been adorned with Spanish, off-the-shoulder necklines, billowy sleeves and tiered, voluminous frills to successfully simulate elegance, yet the organic cotton used throughout the collection is what your skin will thank you for, as temperatures rocket, and you’re reminded of all the reasons, for which you despise polyester.
By Malene Birger guarantees these loose-fitted pieces will transition well from day to night, which is always a blessing when holidaying, even in the city. Even if you’re just hopping from the park straight to date night with no time for an outfit change, a pair of sleek heels and a bigger handbag to hide the sandals will definitely do the trick here. There’s something about the midi and maxi dress length that makes it look as if you’ve made an effort, and it’s certainly used to the collection’s advantage here.
As blatant minimalism takes precedence here, we were surprised by the louder, more high-street appearance of a folk-embroidered stripy caftan. This could potentially be the only piece I’d personally struggle to dress up, but I get the message: I’d also give anything to have a reason for sporting a beach cover-up right now. Maybe it could do as boho heatwave loungewear? Balcony season is open after all!
‘Bohemian Like You’ is available for a limited time only, exclusively in By Malene Birger stores and online. Which pieces will make it to your wardrobe?
