Summer doesn’t ‘officially’ start in Helsinki until Marimekko’s annual free fashion show takes place. Known for their cheerful and fun vibe, the fashion show has been held ever year since 1992. This inclusive open-air fashion event gathers thousands of people, who want to join in the colourful celebrations of summer. But how will this year’s event change with the new rules on gatherings and social distancing?

This year, the fashion show is bigger than ever as it’s being held online for the first time – and true to their inclusive philosophy, YOU are invited to join the runway! Marimekko’s instagram account will be turned into a global, digital runway, with the Instagram community showcasing Marimekko-inspired summer looks.

How to participate:

• Get inspired by Marimekko’s bold prints and colourful world!

• Post a runway moment or a picture on your instagram account – you can accessorize your look with their Unikko face filter, which can be downloaded from their Instagram profile.

• Tag @marimekko in your post to be included in the digital runway, and salute the beginning of summer!

The show will be held this Friday (May 22nd) staring from 17:00 Helsinki time. Do NOT miss this – it’s going to be awesome!
