Taramar: Marine Superfood For Your Skin
Taramar skincare was founded by Dr. Marteinsdóttir, Professor at the University of Iceland, during her extensive work with marine organisms, where she became inspired by the healing properties of seaweed. Teaming up with her husband, Dr. Kristberg Kristbergsson, who is a professor in food processing and technology, to study the powerful compounds found in Icelandic nature and their effects on the skin, the result became Taramar skincare, where marine biology meets nutritional science.
The products combine pure marine botanicals, medicinal herbs and bioactive ingredients, that communicate with your skin on a deep cellular level. Seaweed has become an ingredient of interest in the cosmetics industry as it has several beneficial properties. Purifying Treatment
Don’t be fooled by the name ‘purifying’ – traditionally one would think of a deeply purifying cleanser that would make individuals with sensitive skin back away. But, Taramar’s elegant Purifying Treatment is actually very beneficial for sensitive skin. It’s a lightweight oil cleanser with antioxidant rich, healing algae extract and firming squalene. The gentle oil blend will wash away your makeup in an instant and will leave your skin feeling hydrated. Side note: The scent of the cleanser reminds me of the legendary Finnish liquorice Sisu!
Serum
The Serum is a fast absorbing powerful blend with collagen supporting and skin repairing peptides, violoa tricolor and seaweed extract. You can also use the serum under your eyes for a extra boost under the eye treatment. The serum is tested by an independent laboratory, Dermscan in France, where results showed that after using the serum twice a day for 28 days, the skin had higher collagen density and more moisture, wich is shown as less wrinkles and a more radiant complexion.
Eye Treatment
Taramar‘s Eye Treatment works wonders on sagging skin and dark circles. The Arctic complex contains Icelandic seaweed extract and handpicked arctic herbs that are highly bioactive with healing and antioxidant rich properties. The Eye Treatment tightens skin, so it’s beneficial not only to apply around the eye – even on your upper lids, but also on your neck which is delicate and where the first signs of ageing tend to appear. Because of the potet formula, it is advised to start the eye treatment slowly, applying it every other day during the first 4-6 days, then once a day over the next 2-3 weeks. For extra sensitive skin it is advised to skip 2 days every week after the 3-4 first week period.
