Whats makes your designs unique and important?
I can’t really say that whether my design is unique or important – For the most part I design for others, where my opinion isn’t very relevant, but of course I still hope it is.
“I think it’s important that we don’t design objects that already exist – we obviously have enough chairs in the world, which means that our job is to add objects with a new or improved design.”
What is your favourite part of the creative process?
Every part of it. I love that feeling in the beginning when I get a brief and my head fills up with ideas. After a while I always have a phase of doubt, but even then I know I’ll come up with an idea that gives me energy to continue. The most rewarding part of the process is to see the first prototype (if you’re pleased with it). It’s a special addictive feeling, which I believe everyone who’s working with something creative can relate to.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Hopefully I’m working in my own or in a collaborative studio in a broad field with furniture, glass and lighting producers. My goal is to always be busy and have something to work with.
What inspires you?
That depends on the project, but in general, I’m inspired by architecture, history, behaviour and function. Every brief has a different context and from that I try to find relevant inspiration, which I love, since I’m always learning something new during my research.
