TANGENT GC: Simply Clean

Are you wondering which formula of the soap is better for you – solid or liquid? Does it make any difference in killing the bacteria? This question might have crossed your mind lately, and no wonder, as the awareness of keeping our hygiene a top priority is growing. I guess if we clean our hands countless times over the course of one day, we need to make this process special, right? I discovered a go-to range of products you should definitely try out, if you are also searching for unique fragrances.

Let’s start out with the environmental impact, which is as important for me as using organic, cruelty-free products. Organic beauty gained my trust, as I found out that most of the synthetic components are harmful to my skin. The best skincare you could get would be organic, cruelty-free, but also vegan, fossil-free and limiting the use of unwanted plastic. I recently tested some soaps from the Swedish brand Tangent GC – they certainly fulfil all of the above criteria, while giving you added pleasantries for your senses.

David Samuelsson, the founder of Tangent GC also responsible for product development, explained why solid soaps are better – the environmental edge considered:

The soap bar category is growing mainly due to environmental benefits. Bars are concentrated, a lot lighter and smaller than liquid soap, making them greener. You should also consider the impact of packaging – a mere piece of wrapping paper versus a bottle with a pump.

So, is any of the two forms more hygienic? You might be thinking that liquid soap is more hygienic, but surprisingly they are equally effective in getting rid of bacteria and pathogens. Soap bars are smart thanks to their anti-bacterial quality, so it’s up to your personal preference, which formula you use. Considering efficiency, while liquid soaps, as the name guides, are diluted with water, you need to put more on your hand to have the same effect as with the soap bar.

Tangent GC offers a variety of natural, perfumed soap bars produced in France, but also liquid soaps available in unique fragrances. Believe it or not, I have broadened my fragrances horizons while smelling their Fir and Clover, and I am now inspired to create my own perfume consisting these two – not forgetting cedar, which is my personal must-have.  Beside the forest-like scents, you can find your favourite among more fruity, citrusy or floral vibes of yuzu, tulip, kiyomi or sugar.

The Swedish brand is not just about soaps – Tangent GC has a lot more to offer. You can find same of the signature fragrances in the form of hand creams, which light consistency helps the cream absorb into the skin quickly. I would say it’s more of a basic hand cream to use on the daily, especially for the smell it carries. It gives you regular skin protection, thanks to shea butter, aloe vera leaf juice, coconut and olive oils, but if you expect extra hydration for super dried out hands, it’s not going to help it. I, however, will definitely use it throughout the autumn season – it’s a good fit and I totally got addicted to the fir aroma, no joke.

Building on the overall mission of the company, which is detailed, quality care of the garments, rather than mass production, really interesting products could be their shoe care line, as well as a selection of washing detergents for your jeans, cashmere, sportswear and more. I, for one, am curious to try them out!

When in the Nordics, the easiest way to find Tangent GC products is to a COS store, as they carry Tangent GC products. You should also check a full list of stockists on their website and begin your clean, green story filled with luxurious aromas!
