What does your work mean to you?

To be able to work with something that I love every day is such a blessing, I wake up feeling lucky every morning. To create and be creative on a daily makes me a happy person. I’ve had other jobs before and I always came home feeling tired and sad without any reason, but I think it’s just because I didn’t get to use that creatively that wanted to come out so badly. So I guess to me, my job means a lot!

Who do you look up to?

I have idols that inspire me and my music, of course I do, but to be honest the person I look up to most in the world is my grandmother, Doris, she’s the most caring and loving person I know. She takes care of everyone, putting everyone before herself when sometimes I wish she’d just put her self first for once. She always drove me to the studio for sessions when I was younger and picked me up when I was done, never once complaining about it. She always love every song I write, even if I know deep down it’s not my best work. She always supports me. So I look up to her, and I want to be just like her one day.

Last time you laughed?

I think I laugh all the time without even thinking about it. I’m a happy person. But when I laugh I always tear up and it’s like a waterfall, it have led to a couple of embarrassing moments for me. Last time I laughed was this morning watching ‘Friends’, I’m re-watching it for like the hundredth time, but it always gets me laughing – I was ‘The one where Ross is fine’.

What is creativity to you?

To create is as important as breathing to me, and it’s about leaving your mark. Getting an outlet for your emotions and maybe help someone else who is going through something similar.

What do you think of when you hear the word ‘lyrical’?

To me it’s a way to express yourself, and to do it in a beautiful way. When I go through something bad and find a song that explain how I feel in that moment it saves me. I’ve always been that one that listen to lyrics before melody, how it explains a story and get you to relate.

Last text message you sent?

To my manager/friend: Asking if she wanted to have lunch on Monday before our meeting.

What is your favourite part of the creative process?

When you come up with a concept that everyone in the room can relate to and all the pieces just come together. When you know what you wanna write the song, it kind of just writs itself, coming up with that is always the hardest part. And making something unique.

Are you in love?

Yes, his name is Alex. I’m very in love.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

In 5 years I hope to have much more music out, and hopefully I would have toured a lot, bought a pretty little house with Alex, have one kid and my two dogs Belle & Bruce. Have my home studio and just write songs all day, release music and be healthy and happy.

What inspires you?

A lot of things inspire me, my every day life and my own experiences and the people around me of course. But also music, books and movies/series. People always assume I only write about my own life in every song, but I don’t. I get inspired from so much more than that.
