It’s only been a few days since CPHFW ended, and the excitement of the amazing AW19 collections hitting the stores, is killing us! We are still floating on our happily-inspired cloud, daydreaming about wearing all the beautiful styles for the new season.
Looking back, there are three collections that found themselves a very special place in our hearts. What they all have in common is that they introduced a wide range of wearable pieces, are made with great craftsmanship and utilize quality fabrics, and have a unique and intriguing visual story to tell. It’s not just a crush, we are in love, and this season our hearts go out to Hofmann Copenhagen, Baum undt Pfergarten and Martin Asbjørn.
Not only did the amazing women from The Bowdashes rock the stage with their edgy live performance, but Hofmann Copenhagen were rocking their print game! Once again Heidi Hofmann proves her incomparable talent in creating sophisticated, yet daring pieces of art, through silky patchwork landscapes, iconic prints and vivid color combinations. Crépe suits and silk dresses brought sexy back to the catwalk, in an effortless way, and we wanted to wear it all! The playful styling of huge furry hats, and crocs with furry details, put the cherry on top of this magnificent collection, and we are truly, madly, deeply in love.
This collection had so many visually compelling stories to tell, that we were overwhelmed with fascination. Through their inspiration from ordinary life, and how we all borrow from the family closet, Baum und Pferdgarten managed to merge different personalities in their AW19 looks. The whole family made an appearance by means of different silhouettes, fabric features and detailing, conveying motherly, fatherly and sisterly metaphors on the catwalk. One of our favourite aspects of this collection were the printed silks and outerwear, carrying captivating images of natural landscapes like moors, meadows and fantasy forests. Baum und Pferdgarten explored current trends in an unpredictable and novel way, enthralling us with all their exclusive charm.
Was this our favourite show at CPHFW? YES!
Marin Asbjørn’s tailoring skills and great vision were beautifully on show for AW19! The styles were sharply on brand, exploring the interplay between casual street-wear and classy, formal menswear. Although Martin is well-known for mixing those contrasting features, he succeeds in doing this in an original and innovative way every season. We were excited by the introduction of pink to this liberated menswear wardrobe, and we felt that this collection brought a statement of rebellion against the stereotypical masculinity. Martin presented us with this very sexy way of being a delicate male, and we were in awe!
What a great season, and we can’t wait until we can start wearing these collections in the Autumn! Head over to our Instagram to look at our story highlights from CPHFW, and to follow us along at Fashion Week Stockholm this week!
