First showcased at the Oslo Runway last August, Cala Jade‘s Spring/Summer 2019 collection features brand new styles and colours iterations of their well-loved designs. Cala Jade’s design choices tend to prioritise functionality and quality fabrics, while embracing an mixture of feminine and androgynous features. We are happy to see that this approach has not changed, but has only only been expanded upon with funky patterns and elements.
After their A/W 18 offering of earthy colours, the palette has brightened up with dusty lilacs, soft beige and peach. Unaltered is the use of high-end materials of various textures – smooth lambskin and ribbed suede lead the way, with faux crocodile and snakeskin added for a sophisticated look.
The practical, horseshoe AIKO bag is clearly the signature piece of the new collection, introduced in ice cream-like pastels and sweet polka dot. The chunky chain is a graceful throwback to the 80’s plastic craze, making AIKO an intriguing day-to-night number. The ring closure detail adds classic elegance and gives us serious Chloe vibes, only younger and more playful.
Another popular style Cala Jade decided to explore further this season is the KOALA tote. This shopper has the potential of fitting all of your necessities in – it comes in two sizes – without looking too bulky. A wide, adjustable strap and easy access mean KOALA makes for an effortless but not at all boring companion for everyday. We live for that edgy hardware on the side straps!
Last but not least, is the evening staple – the BATU clutch bag. Big enough for your essentials, and depending on what you consider those to be, you can purchase it in three sizes – the smallest being a handy wallet and the largest a stylish laptop sleeve. BATU is a versatile design every girl will find a purpose for when striving for that work-life balance.
While Cala Jade’s SS19 collection is not available to buy just yet, you can shop their beautiful A/W18 collection online (with some pieces in the sale, so snap them up quickly)! Our favourite bags? The AIKO in Ginger Velvet and the KIYA L in Green Bubbly. We’ll take one of each please!
