Wood Wood’s Collection ‘Mondano’ is Carefree and Casual Perfection

The Spring / Summer collection ’Mondano’ from Danish Wood Wood is truly something extra. The collection fuses colors, silhouettes and general inspiration from the Italian province of Campania, with the contemporary fashion aesthetics of Wood Wood.

After a trip to the Italian province of Campania, the Wood Wood designers Karl-Oskar Olsen and Brian SS Jensen found their inspiration for their spring and summer collection. The Amal coast set the tone for the design and color palette. With its steep mountains rising from the Tyrrhenian Sea as well as the beautiful country and landscape of the region. While traveling the coastline and the island of Capri, the designers experienced the comfortable and carefree lifestyle of the locals. The food, the wine, the late night dinners and general feeling of Mondanità provided the name for the collection.

The vintage look of local signage, as well as quotes from Italian culture personalities such as Federico Fellini and Ettore Sottsass, are apparent in the prints and graphics of the collection. Also, Anthony Minghella’s ‘The Talented Mr. Ripley’ which take place on the island of Ischia, provide a few references in the print stories.

Italian style and bright colors are evident in a fresh and optimistic collection. As a reaction to Wood Wood’s core principles, the collection fuses formal suiting with contemporary sports- and streetwear. Alongside the classic Wood Wood colors navy and blue, significant colors of the collection include bright red, yellow, deep green, orange, beige and brown.
