Bitte Kai Rand brings us ‘Hidden Treasures’! This colorful AW18 collection was inspired by the geological wonders of our planet, meant to take us on a journey through the earth itself – from its core and to its highest mountaintops.
Emphasising the structure and pattern of crystals and rock formations, the collection is a blend of different shapes that alternate between sharp and soft and come together in a fusion of both muted and bright colors. The overall collection is quite versatile as items range from fitted vests and suit-style co-ords to flowy feminine dresses and a few sporty elements thrown in the mix. The selection is tied together nicely through the designer’s concept, resulting in a range that is relaxed and fun but also means business.
The show itself deviated from the runway-norm as it was modeled entirely by dancers who were choreographed by Toniah Pedersen, expressing Bitte Kai Rand’s aim to cater to “independent, strong women who are comfortable in their bodies.”
