The moment Nordic Style Mag was chosen as one of the selected few to be told in advance and be able to feature a very exciting collaboration in the kids fashion world, we have held our breaths and honoured the request to “not tell“.

But, now the time is here when we are allowed to share with you guys this amazing pair up and show you just how cool two major brands can look when put together (with a perfect outcome) !

The Swedish giant, Mini Rodini, who styles and shows cool kids across the globe how to stand out, have teamed up with the ultimate sports brand, Adidas Originals, and are injecting huge excitement into the world of kids fashion.

A collaboration between two such super powers is going to instantly stir up interest and demand for what they have come up with, so I’m going to hand over to them to explain exactly what everyone is going to be talking about:

“adidas Originals and Swedish children’s wear brand Mini Rodini are announcing a unique collaboration. The yearlong collaboration includes limited edition pieces of iconic adidas Originals styles in the hand drawn print design by the Mini Rodini founder and creative director Cassandra Rhodin. The collaboration between adidas Originals and Mini Rodini consists of a selection of iconic styles from the adidas archives, such as the Superstar tracksuit and the Stan Smith shoe. The items have been blended with creative and pioneering hand drawn prints by the Mini Rodini Founder and creative director Cassandra Rhodin. First items will be launched on December 1st followed by four releases throughout the year of 2017. – adidas Originals challenges the status quo, originality is about the source. It’s about who made it first, where it was born and creativity at its core. Nothing is truer to this than Mini Rodini, it’s a natural fit for the Originals brand identity and we’re very excited to be collaborating on a collection dedicated to kids and the imprint they leave, says Nic Galway, Creative Director of adidas Originals and Style. – Mini Rodini is really looking forward to this extensive collaboration. adidas Originals is so iconic as a brand. I’ve been wearing original silhouettes since I was a kid, says Cassandra Rhodin, Creative Director at Mini Rodini. All items in the collections have high sustainability values such as organic cotton and recycled polyester, important factors for both adidas Originals and Mini Rodini. – To be able to make people and planet friendly products more accessible for a wider audience globally is fantastic. This is one step closer towards our mission to minimize our footprint on the planet, Cassandra continues. adidas Originals by Mini Rodini will be sold in Mini Rodini owned stores, online, in adidas Originals flagship stores worldwide as well as selected retailers globally. The collection is available in size 62- 116 (apparel) and in 19-27 (footwear)”

There you have it, the ultimate funky, fashion collaboration!

And as we are the ultimate magazine that celebrates Nordic fashion creators we want to introduce our Swedish friends at Mini Rodini a bit more.

Mini Rodini is a Swedish children’s wear brand that was founded in 2006 by illustrator Cassandra Rhodin as a tribute to all children, their imagination and sense that everything is possible. Mini Rodini takes children seriously with playfulness, meaning it is important that children too have clothes that match their own personality, mood and creativity.

History and Heritage

Cassandra Rhodin is a recognized Swedish illustrator. She grew up in an artist family, surrounded by painters, actors and filmmakers. Her great-grandfather was the legendary circus king Brazil Jack. Born Carl Max Alexander Rhodin in 1871, son to two of the most prominent illusionists and artists of their time. At the young age of twelve, he ran away with a circus and he spent the late, romantic 19th century travelling around Europe with the Romani families Demetri and Taikon. Every weekend staged gypsy weddings were held between Brazil Jack and the daughter of Bomba Demetri. He was since then known as the Gypsy prince Carooli Rodini. The Rhodin family and the romanies lived and worked closely together for several years, running both a Tivoli and the famous circus. In 1899, then known as Brazil Jack, he started his first circus that has come to follow the Rhodin family to modern time. Cassandra found his picture in an antique shop, signed “Rodini” on the back, which became the inspiration for the name Mini Rodini. The circus undoubtedly played an important part in Cassandra’s childhood and continues to be a never-ending source of inspiration. The name Mini Rodini is in itself a celebration – homage – to her great-grandfather’s heritage. But mostly the creativity and inspiration come with Cassandra’s own two sons. It was with them the idea for a new children’s wear brand – Mini Rodini – grew.
