I saw on Instagram that there was a celebration in the world of kid’s fashion happening. So, I decided to find out about what I was missing!
And there they were, iglo+indi!
I took a step back and tried to inhale the most stunning collection of Kid’s clothes that I’d seen in a while. Patterns, prints, crisp colours, shapes and a whole handful of imagination was staring back at me.
Excited, I looked deeper and was smirking slyly to myself when I realised that they were an Icelandic brand… I should have known! Nordic, of course!
With all these beautiful photos of kid’s clothes in front of me, I couldn’t understand why I was so excited until I saw all the mixing and matching that was going on! How versatile is that for your kid’s closet?
The founder, Helga Ólafsdóttir, comments that this is so the child has “no limitations” when putting together their outfit, they can swap items around to meet their mood and still look amazing. As a mum I love this idea, let them be free with their outfit choice but you can be comfortable with the knowledge that they will look good, no matter what!
The celebration I was talking about, is how this fabulous company has been enticing parents and kids for 8 years now! And they aren’t worn down by the years of hard work, oh no, they’ve just grown even more exceptional.
The woman behind it….. Helga Ólafsdóttir is the founder, head designer and manager of all design development at iglo+indi. Helga has a degree in fashion design from Copenhagen, Denmark, but being a true globetrotter at heart she furthered her studies in both London and Milan.
“I love designing kids wear. Every child I meet is an inspiration. I admire their honesty, purity, humour and their natural joy of life.”
Children’s comfort is the underlying principle behind every design where fashion meets comfort with a touch of whimsical playfulness thrown in.
We are of course, in one of the most visually inspiring seasons right now, Autumn/Winter16 and iglo+indi have really stepped up to deliver a collection that we will not be disappointed in!
If you want to know what makes this collection so perfect for your little ones, just take a read of what you can expect and then stare at the photos for inspiration, even better still, head over to their website iglo+indi.com.
For Autumn/Winter 2016, iglo+indi draws inspiration from the world of insects and horned animals lurking in the shadows behind the forest trees. With beetles, rhinos, butterflies, wings and gentle monsters the collection is quirky and fun. Toned down colours of pale peach, chalk, silver grey and the northern sky give the collection an earthy feel.
The iglo+indi AW16 main collection is now entirely organic and made with GOTS certified organic cotton.
