The resort season is here and recently Acne Studios had its presentation in Paris, where the Swedish brand showed its newest designs.
Acne Studios is famous for its playful and eclectic style and Jonny Johansson did not leave us disappointed this time either. For resort there are colors, patterns and layers for everyone. Johansson told the audience at the Resort presentation that he had been inspired by works of artists Albert Gleizes and Mario Schifano that he found in the Rizzoli fashion tome The Last Swan by Marella Agnelli.
The classic trench coat got bigger dimensions with pockets and collars in white linen. For the bold one there’s a red trench in leather. The black tattoo chokers every 90’s kid loved when they were young are back. There are lots of fringed, raw edges on both clothes and shoes and the hems are asymmetrical. Some pieces resemble cubist art works rather than clothes with a mix of materials from sheer see-through organza to bold color pops put together in a patchwork piece of clothing.
The monochrome, striped and checkered looks are definitely the most subtle and wearable ones, though those with unique patterns and new cuts and shapes are real showstoppers and we bet quite many fashionistas probably can’t wait to get their hands on them.
