Martin Asbjørn A/W 15

During CPHFW Nordic Style Magazine dropped by CIFF Raven trade show and had the pleasure of catching up with one of our favourite Danish designers – Martin Asbjørn Bjerre. Now into his fifth collection Bjerre continues to impress with his range of casual tailored garments for the modern man.

Refusing to be defined by genre, the inspiration for A/W 15 was found from the cool, aloof men of the 90’s and their nonchalance. This collection features oversized draped shapes with tight-fitted rock and roll cuts creating unique silhouettes that highlight Bjerre’s impeccable attention to detail. The casual tailoring adds a comfortable yet refined element to the collection that’s easy to wear yet elegant at the same time, or as he puts it “Tailoring for the everyday wardrobe,”.

The stand out pieces are once again Bjerre’s take on outerwear. This season showed development of the biker jacket featured in black with shearling and a fuzzy wool overcoat ideal for pairing over the slim fit suiting. Also continued was the relaxed monogram series with signature “M” embroiled details on sweat sets, bomber jackets and shirts. All constructed with durability in mind we got a first hand look at the luxury fabric and high quality construction of Martins designs and the attention to detail that goes into creating the tailored casual look that he is becoming so good at.
