Once again the time arrived for the queen of minimalism, Veronica B. Vallenes, to present her collection. The second day of Copenhagen Fashion Week brought us the pleasure of enjoying some simplistic beauty. The location of the runway show was the new venue of the fashion week: the prestigious Hotel D’Angleterre. Providing the backdrop of the show were magnificent marble pillars, golden door frames, and flower installations.
The Autumn/Winter 2015 collection from Veronica B. Vallenes is entitled “Black Diamonds” and it embodies the elegant silhouettes which are part of the designer’s signature. This is combined with references to the iconic period of the 1970’s. The contemporary Scandinavian wardrobe shaped by Veronica B. Vallenes focuses, as always, on femininity and functionality, truly an exciting mix. The key silhouettes are in perfect harmony between voluminous shapes and fitted garments. To emphasise this through fabric choice, Veronica B. Vallenes combined fine silk with heavy alpaca wool, a pleasantly contrasted sequence for the cold season. The sensual look is highlighted with feminine and flirty details, such as slender lines, silky robes, and short dresses. The key pieces include long elegant dresses, slim silk scarves and below-the-knee skirts.
“Starting with the idea of contrasting a graceful, which look with more dense materials, the Veronica B. Valences Autumn/Winter 2015 collection captures the essence of a modern woman who layers with a casual ease.” – the designer confesses.
As Veronica B. Valences is one of the true creators of the Scandinavian wardrobe the colour palette is limited, but impressively combined. The colour ranges are mostly black and white, with shades of grey, bottle green, berry red, midnight blue, and warm camel. In harmony with this the fabric choices consist of draped silks, soft mohair, shiny alpaca and natural leather. The tailoring of the collection is impeccable and it surely completes the sophisticated look.
This Norwegian designers stays true to her identity, bringing the beauty out of simplicity with a strong feminine edge. And to truly embody the Scandinavian wardrobe, the Autumn/Winter 2015 collection of Veronica B. Vallenes was styled with Bjørg jewellery.
