Fashion Editorial: Manhood

A young Swedish team of up-and-coming talents created a fashion editorial: Manhood. It’s about the obscure difference between women and men, focusing on that something between the two, the fleeting moment of being neither one nor the other gender. “A man doesn’t need to be portrayed like a man, he can also be very feminine in his poses”, says the photographer Josefine Bäckström. “I like to portray strong women and men in different ways.”

The black and white theme of the editorial has its roots in the photographers’ interest for analog photography. The team is made up of photographer Josefine Bäckström, retouch artist student Dennis Gustavsson, new face model Hans A and hair and make-up artist Petra Stenhammar, all based in Stockholm, Sweden.
