Copenhagen Fashion Week – Henrik Vibskov SS14

There is nothing like the Henrik Vibskov experience. If you have been following the Danish fashion designer, who is engaged with all sorts of activities besides fashion, you can clearly find the thread of his world. Catwalk installations, music, shoes, clothes, colors and on top of all these, prints are all what the name Henrik Vibskov is about. His fashion shows are always far away from the traditional location for the other runway shows, the Copenhagen City Hall. For the Henrik Vibskov SS 14 collection, the road took us to the Papirøen, a place located near the Opera House of Copenhagen. When you entered the location, the Vibskov team was still making the final touches to the catwalk installation and people were impatiently waiting for the models to start the show. For the Spring/Summer 2014 collection, the designer prepared for us the world of “The bathtub observer”. As the title suggests, the focus points are the visual disorders and disfunctions, which are clearly visible in the graphical prints developed by Henrik Vibskov. Lines positioned strangely for the eye, all mixed together, create this eye-catching visual effect that he strongly succeeded with. The colors were all placed in harmony between the collection and the installation. The mustard yellow, mint blue, black and white, combined together made us “observers” entering the “bathtub” of Henrik Vibskov SS14 collection. The surprise was the beautiful laser-cut detail found in a jacket, skirt and dress version that was styled on top of other pieces, having the see-through effect. With this small triangle cut-out detail, the collection was more than complete.
